Excellent 3 course lunch on the first day of the Christmas menu. Every course was beautifully presented, prepared to perfection and delicious. The staff were courteous, friendly and professional. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience in a lovely, historic Lutyens building.

Stayed for a week around 5 years ago, remembering the meals I had, chef even prepared halal food for us. Absolutely amazing food. Should be awarded a star if not already.

Oscar's Al fresco was an amazing space for our recent private party. It holds up to 50 people and offers amazing views of abbey house hotel gardens. The room is beautiful on a sunny day, but has a weatherproof awning so you don't need to worry if it's raining. The staff were exceptional, particularly James Gomes. He was amazing, checking in with us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed. For food we went for the barbecue menu, and there was plenty of food for everyone, all amazing quality. Room amenities include also include a bottle bar - we had welcome drinks too.

We had the seasonal soup and beef Sunday dinner, both lovely, service was excellent

Me and my husband came on the 6/5/23. Perfect from start to finish. Food was cooked to perfection and very tasty, champagne and cocktails afterwards went down a treat. Staff very professional and friendly. We have been looking for somewhere special like this and will definitely return.

Lovely food in an amazing location, it's like a fairy tale castle, stone built and gorgeous. Plenty of free parking. We sat in the al fresco area and it was fantastic, staff spot on, good food for the price (about 60 for two starters and two mains) and really friendly staff. Really clean and tidy and the gardens are amazing Scallops to start were a little small but the lamb was fantastic, portion sizes nor massive but that's standard in a nice gaff, nice little walk around the back to a disused stone abbey. Will defo come back

We went to Oscars at Abbey House Hotel for a lunch celebration with a friend. The place is absolutely stunning — elegant but still really welcoming. We don’t usually go to posh restaurants (always feel a bit out of place, tbh), but Oscars was lovely. The staff were warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed, which helped us feel at ease straight away — especially with the kids and a group of mates in tow. What me and my partner had: Starters: Pork Belly Bits with Bramley Apple Compote – The pork belly itself was a bit mild in flavour, but the apple compote really lifted it and added a nice contrast. Goat’s Cheese Thyme Tart – My partner really enjoyed this one. He said it was creamy, well-balanced, and went down a treat. Mains: Slow-Cooked Cumbrian Lamb Shepherd’s Pie – I absolutely loved this! First time trying lamb in a shepherd’s pie and it was lush. Proper comfort food — I’d 100% order it again. Linguine with Prawns & Pan-Fried Seabass – He found it light and satisfying with a lovely white wine and lemon cream sauce. The portion was massive for him, but fair play — he still polished it off. Desserts: Sticky Toffee Pudding – Another winner for me. I’ve only recently gotten into sticky toffee puds as I am not a dessert person but, and this one was spot on not too sweet! Classic Tiramisu – Smooth and not too sweet, with just the right hit of coffee and chocolate. He was well happy with it. Service: The staff were brilliant. Really kind and patient, and never made us feel awkward, even with toddlers running about. They gave the kids some colouring pencils and paper to keep them busy, plus a kids’ menu which helped loads. We don’t tend to eat at places like this often — usually feels a bit fancy for us — but this was honestly such a great experience.

A stunning modern bar/restaurant with absolutely delicious food!! The 21 days aged Angus steak cheese burger was to die for!! You can easily forget you are in Barrow ;)
